Firearms Identification Cards

Upon completion of the application you must be fingerprinted. A fee of $60.25 is required and must accompany the application when it is submitted. The payment must be in the form of a certified check or money order payable to: The New Jersey State Police S.B.I. (no personal checks accepted). All forms and fees can be turned in when you are fingerprinted.

A further fee of $5.00 is required upon issuance of the I.D. card. This payment may be made in the form of cash or a check payable to: The Borough of Bernardsville.

Handgun Permits

You must indicate how many permits you are applying for on the form. Upon completion of all forms, return the completed application to the Police Department for processing. No fingerprinting is required. A fee of $2.00 is required upon issuance of the handgun permit. This payment may be made in the form of cash or a check payable to: The Borough of Bernardsville.

Mental Health Form

This form must be completed and your signature witnessed. An officer can be your witness when you submit the completed application.

Please Note:

You may apply for "I.D. card" and "permits to purchase" on the same application form.

The mental health form must accompany the application.

You must come in person to pick up your card and/or permits.

You will be notified when they are complete.

Applications will be returned if incomplete.
