Permits for use of the Bernardsville Compost Facility for Brush and Leaf Disposal for the period from April 1, 2005 - March 31, 2006 will be available at the Borough Clerk's Office in the Municipal Building beginning March 14, 2005, Monday - Friday, 9:00a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Residents must apply in person and provide proof of residency in order to receive a free disposal permit. This permit will allow residents as many as twelve (12) visits to facility for brush disposal.
A new 2005 (blue) permit card and proof of residency will be required at the gate in order to dispose of brush and leaves beginning April 1.
The compost facility is located on Pill Hill Road and is open on Saturdays from March - December (excluding Holidays) between 9:00 am and 2:30pm. A Winter schedule (January - March) will be published in the local paper.
Branches larger than six (6) inches in diameter may not be deposited at the facility for disposal. More information on the program is available at the Borough Clerk's Office.
Note also that residents are welcome to help themselves to free mulch and wood chips at the compost facility. Our facility operator will be available to machine load materials into trucks or other suitable transportation.
