The Bernardsville Planning Board is comprised of nine (9) members, as follows:

Class I

One member, being the Mayor or his designee

Class II

One member, an official of the Borough, other than a member of the Council

Class III

One member, being a member of the Council

Class IV

Six members, who shall be citizens of the Borough holding no other municipal office. The Chairman and Vice-Chairman shall be elected from the Class IV membership.

PLANNING BOARD MEETING SCHEDULE

Although there are exceptions, Planning Board meetings are scheduled for each Thursday. The first three Thursdays of each month are usually "work meetings" which are open to public viewing, but not necessarily public input (at the Chairman's discretion). The fourth Thursday of each month is usually the Public Meeting, open to public participation (at the appropriate times) and when public hearings occur for major subdivisions and major site plans as well as for minor subdivisions and site plans involving variances.

With respect to the work meetings, the first Thursday of each month is generally used to review subdivisions and site plans while the second Thursday is used to review ordinance and master plan issues. The third Thursday of the month may be for either of the above purposes or may be cancelled.
