POSTPONED - Mine Mount Road Section 2 & 3 Improvements


Due to the impending winter storm event predicted to impact our area on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, the scheduled bid opening for “Mine Mount Road Section 2 and 3 Improvements” has been postponed until Friday, March 9, 2018 at 10:00 AM, at which time the bids will be opened at the Borough of Bernardsville Municipal Building located at 166 Mine Brook Road, Bernardsville, NJ 07924.




Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the Borough Administrator of the Borough of Bernardsville in the County of Somerset, State of New Jersey, in the second floor conference room located in the Municipal Building at 166 Mine Brook Road, Bernardsville, New Jersey on March 7, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., prevailing time, and at that time and place publicly opened and read for the Mine Mount Road Section 2 and 3 Improvements.

The work to be performed under this contract includes the installation of approximately 1,000 linear feet of storm drains and structures; approximately 4,300 linear feet of block and concrete curbing; approximately 400 square yards of concrete sidewalk and apron; reconstruction of portions of the roadway; approximately 1,200 tons of HMA base course; and other incidental work along Mine Mount Road from Claremont Road to Post Kunhardt Road.  An Alternate Bid will also be received for additional storm drain improvements and road side edge stabilization with HMA curb and grading.

Plans and specifications and proposal forms are on file and open to public inspection at the Borough Administrator's Office and may be obtained at the office of the Borough Engineer at 180 Main Street, Chester, New Jersey, (908) 879-6209, between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, prevailing time, Monday through Friday, excluding February 19, 2018 and other legal holidays, upon payment of $50.00, payable to Ferriero Engineering, Inc., said sum not refundable, beginning on February 12, 2018.

Each bid must be made on the prescribed forms furnished with the Contract Drawings and Specifications, including Non-collusion Affidavit, and must be accompanied by a Consent of Surety and a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Bid Bond of not less than ten (10%) percent of the amount bid, and not to exceed $20,000.00.  Bids may be submitted by mail, but will be considered only if received on or before such date and time.

Bidders are advised that New Jersey Department of Transportation Local Aid Funding will be utilized on this project.  Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27, and PL 1977, c.33.  Bidders are required to comply with the New Jersey Business Registration Certificate Law, P.L. 2004,c. 57.  Bidders are required to comply with the Public Works Contractor Registration Act, P.L. 1999,c. 238.

The Borough reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive immaterial informalities, and/or to accept the bid which, in the opinion of the Borough, will be in the best interest of the Borough, all in accordance with the New Jersey Public Contract Law N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1 et. seq.
