25th Anniversary of the Bernardsville Farmers’ Market

The Bernardsville Farmers’ Market is highlighting its 25th anniversary with a 50-foot long banner across Route 202 at the entrance to the market at the NJ Transit Station parking lot.

Our Fire and First Aid Squad installed it with traffic control by our Police Department on Wednesday afternoon, right before the market’s opening day, Saturday, June 8 from 9 am to 1 pm.

Keith Keiling used all his tree climbing acrobatics from his bucket truck high above Route 202 with critical support below from Randy Steinkopf, Eric Grier, Will Allen, Zac Wojtech, Bob Young, John Orfan, Glenn Miller, and Connor Keiling.  Traffic control by Detective Scott Chertoff.

The location gives visibility to the market and acknowledges the farmers’ role in bringing farm-fresh produce to our tables for over two decades.  The giant banner helps reinforce Bernardsville’s downtown features: walkability and a common space to interact with neighbors, friends and visitors.  This is how a small town works well.

The Borough Council and Mayor Mary Jane Canose are enthusiastic about the banner. Police Chief Kevin Valentine coordinated the operation.  This effort was due to the diligence of Borough Clerk, Anthony Suriano.
