The site improvements project is off to a good start. The bulbs that were installed by the Garden Club have been transplanted. Trees and bushes have been demolished. Bases for the new light poles in front of the building and in the parking lot have been installed. Also installed were: sleeves across the driveway for electrical conduit and irrigation piping; electrical conduit between the light poles; new catch basin; and storm drain piping. The existing catch basin and connect leader drains/trench grate at the police entrance are currently being replaced. Sleeves under the entrance walkway and new sidewalk are being installed as well as conduits for sidewalk lighting. Portions of the existing curb and walls have been demolished. New curbs, new entrance ramp with snow-melt system, new sidewalk and handrails at the sidewalk steps are being installed. Top soil and seed are being spread. Future work includes: repaving the driveway and parking lot; lighting on poles in front of Borough Hall and in the parking lot; bollard lighting along sidewalk; front fascia lighting, low retaining wall in front of Borough Hall, irrigation installed and landscaping.
